Should I or Shouldn't I

Everyday and everywhere, during the normal daily activities, I always encountered some circumstances that creates war inside my brain, "Should I or Shouldn't I?"

For eg. during my bus ride to office, a lady listened to their MP3 with volume set to very loud. Should I ask her to lower down the volume?
Well.. it's very interesting to see how other people react to this. Some people will start to stare at
her with 'that kind of look'. But nobody really dare to say it loudly in front of her to reduce the volume level of the music.

After this incident, I noticed that more and more people are actually having this habit. Some of them even listen to the music without using earphones.

Is it Asian norm to just keep quite to avoid any conflict? I believe that if it happens in other places, eg US, some people will just complain directly without any hesitance.
I wish I have a little bit of their thick face attitude in me sometimes.
So that I will have less 'Should I or shouldn't I' war inside my brain.

Happy working all..

Bosen

Current feeling : A little bit bored and sleepy..

I feel glad that I have one person to help me. Bulan ini tuh giliran dia take over everything (only from next month onwards we will share the job).

Baru sekarang sempet sering sering update blog. Blog ku udah terlantar gini..

Lagi enjoy free time in office. I am so lucky that this month I get some free time to breathe. My last few months has been very tough. Juggling between finishing everything that need to be done with training the new hire..

Free time bener2x bikin gw mikir2x tentang apa yang gw mao do. Basically mulai kepikir buat doing something that I REALLY like.
I don't hate my job. After 1 year + here, I have settled down and suddenly feel a little bit bored.
That's human nature and I am not complaining.
I think that's the work life cycle in Singapore.

Phase 1: honeymoon - the first few months (hehe if you are lucky enough you'll have this phase). This is mostly training and getting used to your work environment and colleagues.
Phase 2: the reality - your boss will start to load you with all kind of jobs that you can take in.
Yeah and the number of jobs loads to you will become more and more by days.
Just remember, don't be afraid to say NO. Once I said No, and say sorry that I can't help due to other commitment. Amazingly my boss said that's fine, and thanks for being so honest. Well.. in the beginning I feel that I just accepted anything offered to me. I ended up with mountains of works to do :S.
Phase 3: comfort zone - after settling down with your work. This is the phase where you have got the basic knowledge in your head. I believe that the basic knowledge/foundation is one of the most important thing in working environment. Once you have the basic knowledge, you can explore yourself to understand it better.
Phase 4: saturated zone - no more things to learn. This is the phase where you have known your job very well until you feel that there is no more challenge in doing it.

Some people may not experience all the phases in their workplace. Or it may be in a different order or even repeated order.

So in which phase are you now?

Tommorow is my off day. I can't wait till tommorow comes.
Happy working everyone.

Me and My Flatmates

I live with 2 of my friends in a two rooms HDB near Bukit Batok MRT.
A little note on my flatmates : one of them is from Malaysia (my current roomate) and the other one is from Sri Lanka.
It's a mix of different nationality under one roof. Sounds interesting and exciting, am I right?

Last year, I received a good news from my Sri Lankan flatmate... yeah.. she is engaged and going to get married. So she'll leave Singapore on end Feb 2007...
It's not a big shock as we know this day will come.. haha.. I have a good intuition on this. Well I am happy for her. And wish her all the best.

So now.. I go straight to the point:
I and my roomate are going to move out. We need a house, with beautiful view, nice environment, 4 seasons. Stress free environment. Something like the picture below.

Just kidding,
I am looking for a room for 2 people (me and my roomate) along the MRT green line. Fully furnished.
Just let me know if anybody has one.. Thanks :)
Have a good day all...

What Matters the Most

What matters the most in your life?
God?
Money?
Family?
Friends?
Girlfriend/Boyfriend?

I believe that the way we live our lives are influenced by things that we hold dear to our hearts.
By the way, this is just a general statement. I know that sometimes society or unexpected circumstances may happen and this may deviate our focus in life.

These days, I am just too busy with everything and lost focus to the most important things in my life...
Well, do you remember of the story of Mary and Martha?
I must admit that most often I become Martha without even realizing it..

One of my dear friends advise me that we must keep these 3 things in balance: Relationship, Health and Wealth.
I keep that in mind and learn towards becoming a better person.

Have a good day all...

First Fruit

Today I watched a special movie : First Fruit in Bukit Batok Presbytarian Church.

Feeling : Touch..

Short Review from Prayer Foundation:

In 1732 two young Moravians left their comfortable community of Herrnhut, Germany, convinced that they were called of God to bring the Gospel to the slaves in the West Indies. They went, willing to become slaves themselves if necessary, to minister to these oppressed people. The Moravians pioneered a mission movement characterized by extraordinary commitment.

First Fruits unfolds the suffering which these young men endured for their missionary zeal and the agony of their community in deciding to send them forth at a time when missions to the heathen masses were unthinkable among Protestants.

Hey, this is a movie that everybody should watch. Recommended *******

Gw bener2x inspired sama this young Moravian , the main character of the movie yang bener2x love God with his whole heart.
Bener2x touch sama dedication sama patience mereka buat spread God's word to the slaves. Touch sama love yang dia show ke slaves2x yang lagi sakit and suffering.
Touch sama never give up attitudenya dia meskipun banyak orang yang reject and refuse to believe what they teach.

Gw belajar beberapa hal dari movie ini:
1.Spreading God's word is not an easy task. You may be rejected by everybody. But never ever give up and be patient.
2.You have to show love to others, just like Jesus loves you. Because love is universal. And through love others can see Jesus in you.
3.God knows best. God's time is the best time. Well, just remember that God know's everything about you and will give you the best in His time (and not our time).

Matthew 28:19-20
"19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."

Love you all...
