How I Spent My Weekend

Today I went for bible study at Plaza Singapore.

I took 77 from Bukit Batok around 10 am. The weather is very gloomy and the sky looks very dark. I didn't bring my umbrella. I think I left it in my office :S. And I forgot to bring my cardigan.

When the bus reached Commonwealth it started to rain very heavily. The bus became very veryy cold.. Gosh I can't wait to go out from the bus.

Arrived at PS around 11 am. We had early lunch at MOS Burger.
I had Yakiniku Rice Burger.. not bad. It's just.. special and different from normal burger.

Today Ci Sylvi taught us about 3 steps of bible study : Observation, Interpretation and Application.
Yeah application is important... :). And it is difficult.
She also gave us a story titled THE ROOM. The story is quite long.
I will post it when I have time..

This time, Ci Sylvi also taught me lots of things about Evangelism.
I am very lucky that I have lots of Christian friends to advise me about this stuff as sometimes I feel that I don't have enough knowledge to do this.

I went back home around 3 in the afternoon.
What a day...

Everything Happens For A Reason

When God says No.. it might be the best for us.

Got it from mailing list.

Aku sangat menginginkannya. Lalu, tibalah berita yang menghancurkan itu. NASA memilih Christa McAufliffe. Aku kalah. Impian hidupku hancur. Depresi, rasa percaya diri lenyap, dan rasa marah menggantikan kebahagiaanku saat aku mempertanyakan semuanya; Kenapa Tuhan, kenapa bukan aku? Bagian diriku mana yang kurang? Mengapa aku diperlakukan kejam?

Great Singapore Sale

Heheh Great Singapore Sale..
Personally I don't know whether this is good or bad.

But Sale is always good... hihi I started to become kiasu.

Sale means temptation.
People tend to buy things that they don't really need, because the price become cheaper.
Seing all the 20% storewide, 50% sale everywhere in the city is just ... a great temptation...

Gosh just like yesterday.
After church I went to Plaza Singapore.
I went to Times Bookshop seing the 20% storewide from outside.

I almost rushed myself to buy books.. hihi..
They even have 35% discount for Dan Brown books and the discount is only for 2 days.
Hehe knowing that my friend has some of the books I finally decided not to buy anything.

The last time I bought books is during the Popular Sale at WestMall. They have 5% discount for 1-2 books, 50% for 3-9 books and 80% for 10 books and above.

At first I am thinking about buying 10 books wuah.. heheh but after going around the stand for more than 1 hours, I just couldn't find that many books to buy.. esp when the offer is only for old books.. so in the end I just grabbed 3 books and enjoy the 50% discount.

The 3 books are still on the shelf untouched.. :S.

So this time... I managed to control myself and not buying books anymore.

Btw if you really need to buy clothes, this is just a good time, as most of the stores offer quite a good offer U2, G2000, Marks and Spencer, John Little, Bossini, etc etc.

It's Great Singapore Sale guyss..

Happy Father's Day

Hehe today my church celebrate Father's day.
They gave devotion CD for fathers, grandfathers and fathers-to-be.
Here is a good poem for all fathers.

What Makes A Dad

God took the strength of a mountain,
The majesty of a tree,
The warmth of a summer sun,
The calm of a quiet sea,
The generous soul of nature,
The comforting arm of night,
The wisdom of the ages,
The power of the eagle's flight,
The joy of a morning in spring,
The faith of a mustard seed,
The patience of eternity,
The depth of a family need,
Then God combined these qualities,
When there was nothing more to add,
He knew His masterpiece was complete,
And so, He called it ... Dad

Finally CommunicAsia

Today is my turn to stand at my company booth and do some demo for my company's products.

232443

I leaved home around 8.15 and arrived at Singapore Expo at 9.30 am.
The entry to CommunicAsia is very strict.

You must be registered as exhibitors, else you have to register yourself at the counter as visitors.
After registration they will give the name tag with your name, company and country you originated.

They have 2 different tags. For exhibitors and for visitors. Orange for exhibitors, green for local visitors and blue for overseas visitor.

So whenever you go, you can see other people's name and companies. Heheh very interesting indeed. You will be able to know whether the people who visits your booth is a customer or COMPETITOR... hahah.. :).

Anyway our booth is at a very strategic place. It is at the US Pavillion just opposite Motorola booth. In the morning I can see people doing fashion show or I should say "fashion show with Motorola phone" while attending my demo.

I went back to have my lunch around 4 pm. Well, my shift is quite short.. and interesting.

My colleague saw me at Channel News Asia when doing some demo to our customer. I didn't see it myself.

Heheh ok.. time to work..

CommunicAsia Kick Off Meeting

Today I am very busy...
Reading the documentation about my company products, DNA, DTG 2000, stacks, 3G-324M, H-324M, H323, audio codec, video codec..
hehehe well this is me doing everything at the last minute...

This is because of the bosses. They announced in the last minute that at least one engineer must be present at the CommunicAsia booth to do demo for one day. And my turn is.. the first day of CommunicAsia.
It means I only have less than 10 hours to memorize these documentations.. hahahah :D Gosh.

So here I am visiting my own company website and browse through all the product sheet.. Heheh anyway I should be doing this a long time ago. This is just the right time to know more about my own company products.

In the afternoon, finally everything is in my head... hehe not bad at all..
I have the summary of all products and functionality in my bag.
Luckily we don't have that much products ^_^.

At 6 pm we went to Royal Plaza hotel for CommunicAsia 2005 Kick Off Meeting. We discussed the duty roster for Communic Asia, what kind of demo that we have, etc.
During the meeting, the Sales VP also gave us some tips and tricks on how to deal with customer.
Now I know why this company can sell so many products even tough the price is very high.. :D.

After that we had buffet dinner at Cafe Vienna. Nice and expensive..
cafe_image
I tried different types of food, start from chicken, cabbage, beef pastry, prawn, crab, salad, sushi, French dessert, tiramisu.. and honeydew juice.

When I passed by my Indian colleague, I was very surprised that he took only the briyani rice and some Indian food. Well, no matter where he goes, whether it is the company canteen, Kopitiam, hotel buffet, he always has Indian food.
May be that is some kind of style of living.

I arrived home around 10 pm... and I feel very sleepyy....

Human Condition

Man:
Lord,Why you gave me a bottle of wine, If only for me to take a sip?
Why you gave me a piece of meat, if only for me to take a bite?
Why you gave me chance to love someone, if only to end in bitterness and sadness?

Lord:
Man,I'd gave you a sip of wine, so you wouldn't get drunk ...
I'd gave you a bite of meat, so wouldn't indulge in it ...
I'd gave you chance to love, but end it, so next time, you can love even better ...

*God knows the best for all of us. Everything will be beautiful, in HIS time*

Human oo human...

By the way.. I'll be having company dinner today at Cafe Vienna..
This time, the dinner will include the whole big family of Dilithium (including the bosses from US and Sydney).
All the bosses come because of Communic Asia that will be held in Singapore this Tuesday.

A little bit about Communic Asia.. it is a yearly event which invites communication companies from all over the world.
It is a good event to find out about the latest technology in the world. Last year there were 1355 exhibitors from 52 countries/regions.

This year my company is one of the exhibitors.. :)..

Just hope the best for today... happy working to all of you......

Reverse Question

Jack and Max are walking from religious service.
Jack wonders whether it would be all right to smoke while praying.
Max replies, "Why don't you ask the Priest?"
So Jack goes up to the Priest and asks, "Father, may I smoke while I pray?"

The Priest replies, "No, my son, you may not!
That's utter disrespect to our religion."

Jack goes back to his friend and tells him what the good Priest told him.
Max says, "I'm not surprised. You asked the wrong question. Let me try."
And so Max goes up to the Priest and asks, "Father, may I pray while I smoke?"

To which the Priest eagerly replies,
"By all means, my son. By all means. You can always pray whenever you want to."

Moral of the story is...
The reply you get depends on the question you ask.
For Example, if you want a vacation when still working on a project,
don't ask for the holiday;
ask: "Can I keep working on this project while I'm on vacation?"

Da Vinci Code

I finally managed to finish Da Vinci Code's 105 Chapters 593 pages in 2 weeks.
My fastest record so far.
davinci

Hmm the book is quite interesting, but my advice is, just read this book as a novel. Because some of the things which is mentioned here is not true.

Dan Brown is a very hmmm*good* author. He is the kind of author who can convince people about something which is not true and people will believe it. If you don't have any background knowledge about it, I think you will just fall on it.

The book talks a lot about Leonardo Da Vinci, Fibonacci sequence, Phi (Phi is 1.1618 not 3.14), Holy Grail, etc.

I find that some parts of the book are quite scary in the sense that, he mentioned something which is so wrong, but he mentioned it in a very persuasive way..
Gosh, he even said that the person beside Jesus in Leonardo Da Vinci painting, 'The Last Supper' is Maria Magdalene.
lastsupp

Well, overall the book is good for those who like code breaking, math and Leonardo Da Vinci, BUT... don't believe blindly all the things mentioned inside.

Proudly Present : My PCG

PCG is Pastoral Care Group.
It's something like KTB in my church.

Each people in my church is located to a PCG so that we can get support, pray for each other, discuss sermon, etc etc.

In my church I join 'Grace' hihi yeah my PCG name is Grace. Most of the members are the choir members.
choir
We meet every Friday twice a month, and I skipped a lot of them (unless it's my turn to prepare worship) ^_^ like last Friday.

Last Friday we went to NUH for hospital visitation. We visited 2 persons.
1.Mr Teo. He was our PCG member. He got stroke, and has been hospitalised for quite some time. One time he has gone back home for only 3 hours then brought back to hospital because the condition has worsen. He has twin son.. I only saw one of them. They are the one who asked for prayer support. Mr Teo family is the kind of family which realy believe that prayer changes thing.
We prayed and sang his favorite song, 'Amazing Grace'. Good thing that we remembered the words. Mr Teo seems to enjoy the song :).

2.Joyce's brother has been hospitalised for 2 1/2 month because of masses strokes. Joyce is our PCG member.

Visiting them makes me realise that life is so fragile and I really thank God for my health.

After coming back from NUH, we did a short worship, thanksgiving and supper.
Hihihi we usually only spent less than 50% on bible study, most of the time are spent for chatting and having supper.
We had green bean, pastry, chee kuey(I don't know how to spell it), etc for supper.

I am the second youngest in my PCG. Sometimes I feel that they treat me like small kid :).
Anyway, it's very interesting to exchange mind with older people. You will get a whole lot information about
1. Natural medicines.
Now I know that celery, starfruit and bittergourd is good for hypertension.
2.How to become old but still graceful hehehe :).
3.Experiences that can't be found somewhere else..

What is Love Actually

I've just listen to the interview between the radio DJ of Positive Live Radio with Joshua Harris and Shannon.

FYI Joshua Harris is the Author of 'I Kissed Dating Goodbye' and 'Boy Meets Girl',
and Shannon is his wife.

I find that the journey of a person from who they were to where they are now is a very interesting topic. The interview is about how he changed his perception from vs dating (I Kissed Dating Goodbye) to pro dating (Boy Meets Girl).
kisseddatinggoodbye boymeetsgirl
"Well, everything is about timing and God's time for sure", Joshua said.

What is Love actually?
How do you know that he/she is the one you Love?
Some people told me they got into a relationship cause the other person seem to love them,no harm trying even if you don't love a person and after some time together you will end up loving the person.

Then there are some others who get into relationships cause they feel peer pressure, the mentality of 'Everyone's got someone, I should too.
I think this is a wrong thinking.

Some people said that the one we spend our lifetimes with is just the person who appears at the right place at the right time.
It is just the person who happens to be at the right place at the right time.
Is this true?
